Wende Cudmore is a 2013 graduate from Indiana University Southeast with a BFA in Printmaking. Her work not only explores the field of printmaking, but also has expanded her work into new avenues experimenting in fiber arts, papermaking, and a process she calls pressed fruits and vegetables along with a new interest in ECO printing.

Born in 1951 and lived in a small town just outside of Buffalo, New York where her experiences with gardening, sewing and hiking in nature would in later years influence and inspire her work as an emerging artist.

As an undergrad at Indiana University Southeast Wende was acknowledged for her work in student juried competitions, 3 art scholarships, an Undergraduate Research/Creative Work Fellowship award and 2 Chancellor’s awards, which are in the permanent collection of Indiana University Southeast. She was also in several school publications for her work in printmaking, and the growing passion she has for papermaking and the in-depth studies of fruit and vegetable pressing.

Since graduation, Wende’s fruit and vegetable art was featured in “Art Walks the Runway” 2014 at the Kentucky Museum of Arts and Crafts in Louisville, Kentucky. This past June – September, Wende had her pressed fruit and vegetable art showing at the Indiana University Southeast Library Gallery.

Wende continues her work with printmaking, along with fine-tuning her skills as a papermaker and pressed fruit and vegetable art. She has also added to her list of work, ECO printing. Currently, she lives in Salem, Indiana with her partner Ron and their dog, Yoda, 2 cats, Boy Cat and Luna. Recently, Annabella a rescue cat joined the crew.
